GOD GRACIOUSLY RENEWS US IN CHRIST

Worship Leader: Forgive us from our sin.

Forgiveness of Sin

Worship Leader: O God of my own exodus, Jesus strides forth as the victor, conqueror of death, hell, and all opposing might; he bursts the bands of death, tramples the powers of darkness down, and lives forever. He, my gracious surety, apprehended for payment of my debt, comes forth from the prison house of the grave free, and triumphant over sin, Satan, and death. Give me the assurance that in Christ I died, in him I rose, in his life I live, in his victory I triumph, in his ascension I shall be glorified. [“Resurrection” from The Valley of Vision]

“He Will Hold Me Fast” [Hymn of Assurance]

Verse 1:

When I fear my faith will fail

Christ will hold me fast

When the tempter would prevail

He will hold me fast

I could never keep my hold

Through life's fearful path

For my love is often cold

He must hold me fast

Chorus:

He will hold me fast

He will hold me fast

For my Savior loves me so

He will hold me fast

Verse 2:

Those He saves are His delight

Christ will hold me fast

Precious in His holy sight

He will hold me fast

He'll not let my soul be lost

His Promises shall last

Bought by Him at such a cost

He will hold me fast

Verse 3:

For my life He bled and died

Christ will hold me fast

Justice has been satisfied

He will hold me fast

Raised with Him to endless life

He will hold me fast

Till our faith is turned to sight

When He comes at last

Thanking God for What He Has Done

Worship Leader: Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the whole earth. Sing to the Lord and bless his name; proclaim the good news of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations and his wonders among all peoples. For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; he is more to be feared than all gods. [Psalm 96:1–4]

Giving Our Tithes & Offerings

“All I Have Is Christ” [Hymn of Thanksgiving]

Verse 1:

I once was lost in darkest night

Yet thought I knew the way

The sin that promised

Joy and life

Had led me to the grave

I had no hope

That you would own

A rebel to Your will

And if you had not loved me first

I would refuse You still

Verse 2:

But as I ran my hell-bound race

Indifferent to the cost

You looked upon

My helpless state

And led me to the cross

And I beheld

God's love displayed

You suffered in my place

You bore the wrath

Reserved for me

Now all I know is grace

Chorus:

Hallelujah all I have is Christ

Hallelujah Jesus is my life

Verse 3:

Now Lord I would

Be Yours alone

And live so all might see

The strength to follow

Your commands

Could never come from me

O Father use my ransomed life

In any way You choose

And let my song forever be

My only boast is You

GOD INSTRUCTS US THROUGH HIS WORD

Scripture Reading

"Then the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. When the centurion, who was standing opposite him, saw the way he breathed his last, he said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God!'" [Mark 15:38–39, CSB]

Sermon: “Why Did Jesus Die?” [Brian Albert]

GOD FEEDS US THROUGH HIS SUPPER

“Behold the Lamb” [Communion Hymn]

Verse 1:

Behold the Lamb

Who bears our sins away

Slain for us and we remember

The promise made

That all who come in faith

Find forgiveness at the cross

So we share in this bread of life

And we drink of His sacrifice

As a sign of our bonds of peace

Around the table of the King

Verse 2:

The body of our Savior

Jesus Christ

Torn for you eat and remember

The wounds that heal

The death that brings us life

Paid the price to make us one

So we share in this bread of life

And we drink of His sacrifice

As a sign of our bonds of love

Around the table of the King

Verse 3:

The blood that cleanses

Every stain of sin

Shed for you

Drink and remember

He drained death's cup

That all may enter in

To receive the life of God

So we share in this bread of life

And we drink of His sacrifice

As a sign of our bonds of grace

Around the table of the King

Verse 4:

And so with thankfulness

And faith we rise

To respond and to remember

Our call to follow

In the steps of Christ

As His body here on earth

As we share in His suffering

We proclaim

Christ will come again

And we'll join

In the feast of heaven

Around the table of the King

GOD BLESSES US AND SENDS US OUT

“I Surrender All” [Benediction Hymn]

Verse 1:

All to Jesus I surrender

All to Him I freely give

I will ever love and trust Him

In His presence daily live

Chorus:

I surrender all

I surrender all

All to Thee my blessed Savior

I surrender all

Verse 2:

All to Jesus I surrender

Humbly at His feet I bow

Worldly pleasures all forsaken

Take me Jesus take me now

Verse 3:

All to Jesus I surrender

Make me Savior wholly Thine

Let me feel the Holy Spirit

Truly know that Thou art mine
