God Calls Us to Worship Him
Call to Worship
Pastoral Call to Worship
Hymn of Adoration: “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! O, my soul praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation. All ye who hear now to His temple draw near. Praise Him in glad adoration.
Praise to the Lord Who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth! Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth. Hast thou not seen how thy desires e'er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?
Praise to the Lord Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee! Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee. Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee.
Praise to the Lord! O, let all that is in me adore Him! All that hath life and breath come now with praises before Him. Let the Amen sound from His people again. Gladly for all we adore Him.
God Graciously Renews Us in Christ
Confession of Sin
All: “Cleanse us from secret faults. Keep us from sins; let them not control us. Let the words of our mouth and the meditations of our hearts be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, our strength and Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:12-14)
Forgiveness of Sin through Christ
Worship Leader: Lord, You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all our sins.
Congregation: You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger.
(Psalm 85:2-3)
Thanking God for What He Has Done
Hymn of Thanksgiving: “10,000 Reasons” The sun comes up; it's a new day dawning. It's time to sing Your song again. Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me, Let me be singing when the evening comes.
You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger. Your name is great and Your heart is kind. For all Your goodness I will keep on singing Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Bless the Lord, O my soul! O, my soul! Worship His holy name! Sing like never before, O my soul. I'll worship Your holy name.
And on that day when my strength is failing, The end draws near, and my time has come, Still my soul will sing your praise unending, Ten thousand years and then forevermore.
Giving Our Tithes and Offerings
Trinity Hymn: “Wonderful, Merciful Savior” Wonderful, merciful Savior! Precious Redeemer and Friend! Who would have thought that a Lamb could Rescue the souls of men? Oh, You rescue the souls of men.
You are the One that we praise! You are the One we adore– You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for, Oh, our hearts always hunger for.
Counselor, Comforter, Keeper! Spirit we long to embrace! You offer hope when our hearts Have hopelessly lost the way. Oh, we hopelessly lost the way.
Almighty, infinite Father, Faithfully loving Your own, Here in our weakness You find us Falling before Your throne. Oh, we're falling before Your throne.
God Instructs Us Through His Word
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 5:22–6:4
God Feeds and Nourishes Us Through His Supper
Breaking the Bread
Worship Leader: “Come, everyone who thirsts, come without money and without price. Incline your ear; and come to Me, hear that your soul may live.”
Congregation: “For His flesh is true food and His blood is true drink. For on the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink’.” (Isaiah 55:1, 3; John 6:55; 7:37)
Taking the Cup
Worship Leader: “As He took the cup, and after giving thanks, He gave it to them and said, ‘Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood that establishes the covenant; it is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
Congregation: “But I tell you, from this moment I will not drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it in a new way in My Father’s kingdom with you.” (Matthew 26:26-30)
God Blesses and Sends Us Out
Hymn of Benediction: “Higher Ground” I'm pressing on the upward way. New heights I'm gaining ev'ry day. Still praying as I'm onward bound. Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand By faith on heaven's tableland. A higher plane than I have found, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
I want to live above the world, Tho' Satan's darts at me are hurled For faith has caught the joyful sound– The song of saints on higher ground.
I want to scale the utmost height And catch a gleam of glory bright. But still I'll pray till heav'n I've found, Lord, lead me on to higher ground.
