God Graciously Renews Us in Christ

Confession of Sin

Worship Leader: Have mercy on us, O God, according to your lovingkindness: according to the multitude of your tender mercies blot out our transgressions. Congregation: Wash us thoroughly from our iniquities and cleanse us from our sins. For we acknowledge our transgressions: and our sin is ever before you. Worship Leader: Against you have we sinned, and done evil in your sight. Congregation: Wash us and we will be whiter than snow. Worship Leader: Create in us a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit within us. Cast us not away from your presence; and do not take your holy spirit from us. Congregation: Restore to us the joy of our salvation; and uphold us with your spirit. Then we will teach transgressors your ways; and sinners will be converted to you. (Psalm 51:1-4, 7, 10-13)

Forgiveness of Sin Through Christ

Worship Leader: “Most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended your the holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done. But you, O Lord, have mercy on us, spare us who confess our faults. Restore those who are penitent, according to your promised declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord; and grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may live a godly, righteous, and sober life in the glory of your holy name.” (The Book of Common Prayer)

Pastoral Prayer of Thanksgiving

Giving Our Tithes and Offerings

David Seffens celebrates ten years as Calvary’s financial assistant this month. David performs many tasks behind the scenes related to our business and money. We would like to honor David by providing him a ‘love offering’ for a decade of faithful service. Would you consider providing monies to show appreciation? Please designate this when you put your monies in the offering. Hymn of Thanksgiving: “Love Lifted Me”

I was sinking deep in sin Far from the peaceful shore Very deeply stained within Sinking to rise no more But the Master of the sea Heard my despairing cry From the waters lifted me Now safe am I Love lifted me Love lifted me When nothing else could help Love lifted me All my heart to Him I give Ever to Him I'll cling In His blessed presence live Ever His praises sing Love so mighty and so true Merits my soul's best songs Faithful loving service too To Him belongs Souls in danger look above Jesus completely saves He will lift you by His love Out of the angry waves He's the Master of the sea Billows His will obey He your Savior wants to be Be saved today

God Instructs Us through His Word

Scripture Reading: Psalm 110

A Psalm of David.

The Lord says to my Lord:

“Sit at my right hand,

until I make your enemies your footstool.”

The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter.

Rule in the midst of your enemies!

Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments;

from the womb of the morning,

the dew of your youth will be yours.

The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind,

“You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

The Lord is at your right hand;

he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.

He will execute judgment among the nations,

filling them with corpses;

he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth.

He will drink from the brook by the way;

therefore he will lift up his head.

God Nourishes and Feeds Us through His Supper

Breaking the Bread

Worship Leader: “Great are the works of the Lord, full of splendor and majesty; He remembers His covenant forever. He broke the bread and gave thanks; He said, ‘This is my body which is for you’.” (Psalm 111:2-3, 5)

Taking the Cup

Worship Leader: “Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed for us. Let us celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (1 Corinthians 5:7-8)

God Blesses Us and Sends Us Out

Hymn of Benediction: "Gloria Patri"
